Part One: Fun with Maps Part Two: Fun in the Forest
Thursday, April 4th 6pm-8pm Saturday, April 6th 9am-5pm
This training is intended for people interested in becoming actively engaged in this type of in-the-forest work with Bark and requires no previous experience.
Groundtruthing training is a two-part training. Space is limited to 20 participants and we will prioritize people who can commit to both days.
Contact michael@bark-out.org if you have further questions.
On Thursday, April 4th we will meet in the Bark office from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to prepare for our day in the forest. We will learn how to research timber sales with Bark's resources and how to read timber sale maps; skills we will then utilize for the day in the forest on Saturday, April 6th.
This event is part of Bark's Rad◦i◦cle Training Program, Bark’s free training program that empowers individuals to learn valuable skills in forest ecology, public lands advocacy, and community organizing.
Check here to learn more about Rad◦i◦cle.
As we plan our set of activities to honor Bark's 20th anniversary, we would love to include your Bark story! Have pictures from the past two decades? A special spot that you groundtruthed? Were you there when.....? Here's a handy form where you can let us know what we should know about your experiences with us over the years.
